Bio
Jon is a British-Latino, eldest of four siblings, with a passion for teaching Maths and playing table tennis (think Forrest Gump) playing at any chance he gets. He is also fluent in Spanish and has been in the industry for over 8 years.
He first discovered his love for the arts at 8 years old whilst studying in Colombia, exploring fine art and drawing. His attention moved towards instruments: Piano and Flute. Finding his voice through music captivated him, even going on to perform professionally before returning to London and taking an interest in performance.
His favourite piece to play was Nino Rota’s composition for The Godfather (1972). Not knowing that he’d later discover the magnificent work of Francis Ford Coppola, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, and Marlon Brando to name a few of his inspirations.
It was only after completing his GCSEs that he began training at Instinctual Acting with New York acting coach, Michael Duvall, learning: improvisation, character/script analysis and acting in front of a camera (for the first time).
Shortly, he was cast as ‘Siddie’ in Tomorrow I’ll be happy’ (dir. by Anna Jordan). It was selected by The National Theatre for Connections 2013. Jon's talent was so captivating that Artistic Director at the time: Nicholas Hytner asked him to be part of The Young Studio’s upcoming project that summer.
Jon continues to sharpen his acting tools through training and has worked on various award winning short films, Amazon series: HANNA, commercial work, feature film: The Bike Thief etc.
He has recently set up his own production company: Big Elephant Pictures, bringing to life his own writing and collaborating with passionate filmmakers to raise awareness and tell diverse stories our world needs.
